Jinx Golf Scramble Huge Success!

The Jinx Golf Scramble last Saturday was a huge success.  You couldn’t of asked for better weather and the turnout was great.  In fact, there were so many golfers, we almost ran out of golf carts.  Brian Rogers kicked off the event by welcoming everyone and thanking them for participating.  He also acknowledged the “selfless service” that Jinx will routinely be involved in throughout the year.

The Jinx players were also present at the event and they were hard at work loading clubs into carts and then cleaning them.

Here’s an excerpt from an email from Chris thanking everyone who put this together….

I want to thank every one for the hard work and time they put into this.  I heard so many compliments on our girls for working and being part of the scramble.  Now we must move on to the tournament on 10/9/2010 at our fields.  We will try to have 12u, 10u and 8u teams in the tournament.  If anyone knows of any teams please pass along the information and invited them to play.  Monday the October the 4th at 7:30 meeting at the pony tail field for all parents to finalize the tourney on the 9th

Here’s a video of Brian Rogers kicking off the event…

Jinx Softball Partners With Surge Promotions

Jinx softball would like announce a strategic partnership with Surge Promotions of Richmond KY.  Surge is a promotional products company that services the schools, churches, and businesses nationwide. Jinx will enter into an exclusive relationship with Surge that will allow Jinx softball to take their game (and gear) to the next level.

Here’s a look at Surge Promotion’s core values.  You can see that Surge and Jinx is a perfect fit and together will do great things.

At Surge we take things seriously.  We take them so seriously that it looks like we’re coasting all the time.  The reason that we all look so laid back and relieved is that our culture shares the same values and beliefs when it comes to our customers and our business.  As a staff we met, brainstormed, wrote and personally adopted our list Core Values that serve as a guideline for everything that we do.

Success through faith
We attribute all of our success to God and believe that through faith we will continue to grow and thrive as individuals and as a company.

The Surge Customer Experience
At Surge, we understand that our customers are our lifeblood.  Our goal is to earn your business each and every day.  We aim to make every single aspect of our business pleasing to our customers – from the answering machine and signage to the t-shirts and ink pens.

Keep the Change
As the saying goes, “The only thing that is constant is change.”  We know that this industry changes every day and we are determined to utilize new technologies and methods while embracing the changes that benefit our customers.

Get Your Learn On
If you’re not learning, you’re losing.  Surge supports the education of our owners and employees in all facets.  We owe it to our customers to be the most knowledgeable staff possible.

Be Passionate, Determined, and Committed
It is a requirement to believe in ourselves as individuals and as a company.  We believe that by getting the right group of individuals together who are passionate, determined and committed to the Surge vision, it will be a long and fun ride together!

Honesty is the Best Policy
We require each employee to be honest at all times and holding themselves accountable for issues that may arise.

Fun! It’s What We Do
Food, water, oxygen and fun – the four staples of life at Surge! We believe that having fun on a daily basis will ensure that everyone finds it just a little easier to do their job of exceeding our customers expectations.

A Little Competition Never Hurt Anyone
Business thrives on  competition, and we also challenge each other within our own walls.  We truly believe that competition brings out the best in all of us, and promotes the energy and excitement to drive superior service for our customers.

We are Family
Surge is a family.  We respect one another for their uniqueness and support each other both as individuals and co-workers.  The only difference between us and a real family is we don’t have to hire that weird cousin that sits in the corner at holidays and plays Bejewled on his cell phone all day.

Stop, Collaborate & Listen
We believe that creativity and collaboration are vital to our growth.  We encourage ideas that challenge our current methods, procedures, stances, and values.  Constant attention to the most critical aspects of a growing business is imperative.  Imagine watching YouTube videos on dial-up!

Jinx Will Pack Meals For Starving Children

At the Home Store and More, on October 16th, team Jinx will  volunteer their time to the “Feed My Starving Children” foundation.  The foundation supplies prepacked meals to starving kids all over the world.  This is a great opportunity to broaden everyone’s outlook on life while reminding us to appreciate the things we’ve  been blessed with.

If you would like to join Jinx in packing food on 10/16, you can contact us here for details…  CLICK HERE

Here’s a quick excerpt from the “About Us” section of the “Feed My Starving Children” website.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) was founded as a Christian nonprofit in 1987 through the efforts of a Minnesota businessman who felt called by God to help feed the starving children of the world during a humanitarian visit to Honduras. He returned to the Twin Cities (Minnesota) to develop a method of large-scale relief.

Our Statement of Beliefs
As a Christian Organization:

  • We believe that there is one God, in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. He has directed us to help others in need.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is the reason that FMSC exists and we strive to listen for and follow His will every day in all that we do.
  • We believe that every child has a right to be fed a nutritious meal. [Matthew 25:35 - "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat."]
  • We believe that our lives are enriched when we graciously give our own time and resources to help others in need. [Luke 6:38 - "Give and it will be given to you."]
  • We believe partnering with other faith-based and humanitarian organizations maximizes our ability to feed God’s children.

Jinx Take Runner-Up

The picture above is from the “The Irvine Fall Classic”  last weekend, where the Jinx finished as Runner-Up.  The girls played hard but just couldn’t seem to pull it out in the end.

I would still consider this weekend a success from the way each day ended.  Both Jinx and the opposing team circled the pitchers mound, held hands and prayed. That’s right, prayed!

Every tournament might not end on this note, but it was a great way start to the Jinx organization. You could definitely say that this tournament was “Jinxed” ;) ….
